Prohibition Hacking Workshop: Reducing the Impact of the Gag Law on Health

Metzineres and L’Arravalera are opening registration for the Prohibition Hacking Workshop: Reducing the Impact of the Gag Law on Health, a training session led by DoctorX aimed at reflecting on the effects of the Citizen Security Law on health, harm reduction, and the everyday lives of people who use substances.

The workshop offers a critical, educational, and participatory space to address how prohibitionism, stigma, and control policies affect bodies, rights, and care strategies. From a health-based, community-oriented, and situated perspective, the activity seeks to provide tools to better understand these impacts and to explore creative, cautious, and collective ways to reduce harm.

The proposal combines theoretical, historical, and philosophical foundations of so-called “drug-loving mischief” with discussions on self-protection, discretion, risk reduction, contemporary technologies, gender perspective, and psychoactive gastronomy. All of this is approached through humor, political critique, and a health-centered perspective.

The workshop will be led by DoctorX, the pseudonym of Spanish physician Fernando Caudevilla, a family medicine professional specialized in reducing harms associated with substance use. DoctorX is known for his work providing health advice in digital environments and for offering technical, chemical, and medical information aimed at reducing risks, preventing overdoses, and minimizing harms associated with substance use.

LA IG_ALDARULL. ESPASME COL·LECTI (800 x 600 px)

Open Call | ALDARULL. ESPASME COL·LECTIU

ALDARULL. ESPASME COL·LECTIU is the first collective exhibition by L’Arravalera, a proposal that takes as its starting point the 20 illustrations created by Silustra through conversations with the team and the imaginaries that shape the project: intersectional feminisms, anti-prohibitionism, hacking, art, technology and community.

Through this open call, we invite artists and creators from different disciplines to reinterpret these illustrations and create derivative works. The proposal aims to open a collective conversation about what L’Arravalera is, who we want to be, and what forms of relation we want to build with our immediate context.

The open call is addressed to artists, creators and collectives who feel connected to these questions and practices. We are interested in languages such as craft, drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic arts, digital art, performance, design, photography, video art, cinema, sound experimentation, music and literature, among others.

15 proposals will be selected, and each will be assigned one of Silustra’s illustrations as a starting point to develop a new work.
