Radical tenderness, building community from the margins.

At Metzineres, we are going through a critical moment: we may lose our premises at Carrer de la Lluna, 3, in El Raval. The property owner has decided not to renew the lease due to the expected sale of the building, which forces us to leave the space before June 30, 2026. As of today, we have no alternative that guarantees the continuity of the project.

This situation is not an isolated case. It is part of a broader dynamic of real estate pressure in El Raval, where gentrification and speculation are displacing not only residents, but also essential community projects that sustain life in the neighborhood.

Our space is not just a venue: it is a community resource that guarantees basic rights every day to womxn with no alternatives — food, showers, rest, social and healthcare support, psychological accompaniment, and legal advice — and where we build bonds of trust and sustain support processes for those left outside institutional systems.

Since 2017, we have created Sheltered Enviroments for women in situations of vulnerability and violence, building community, fighting stigma, and defending access to rights from an intersectional feminist perspective. We have become established as the only Specialized Intervention Service on gender-based violence in the city and have been recognized by the United Nations as a good practice, demonstrating that local actions can generate impact and change at an international scale.

We work from a harm reduction approach with a comprehensive perspective, addressing gender-based violence, homelessness, the criminalization of poverty, and severe social exclusion.

For all these reasons, we demand an urgent response from the public administration on behalf of all those of us who defend the margins: sign now and spread the word!

Guaranteeing rights cannot depend on the market.
